The Conquest - David de Sousa
Joshua was an example of a skilled and strategic leader, raised up by God at a peculiar moment in Israel's history. Far from being a perfect person, Joshua experienced crises resulting from his lack of experience as a leader. However, at no time did he refrain from acknowledging his shortcomings and realigning his positions before God and even the nation. His most difficult experiences brought him closer to the Lord, which is why, even in life, he experienced the reward of honor. Joshua lived not only to see with his own eyes the conquest of Canaan, but he led God's people in the greatest and most successful military campaign described in the Scriptures. His battles until the conquest of the Promised Land surely portray struggles that we also face during our journey as Christians and do even more: they individually inspire us to the courage of Joshua, to be conquering leaders who celebrate victory.
